BASSETERRE, St. Kitts — Minister of Agriculture, the Honourable Eugene Hamilton, will address the nation on World Food Day 2018, which is celebrated every year on Oct. 16 in honour of the date of the 1945 founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
The theme for World Food Day 2018 is “Our Actions are Our Future. A #Zero Hunger World By 2030 is Possible”.
World Food Day, is a day of action, dedicated to tackling global hunger. On this day, people from around-the-world come together to declare their commitment to eradicate worldwide hunger from our lifetime.
The day is celebrated widely by many other organizations concerned with food security, including the World Food Programme and the International Fund for Agricultural Development.
The address will be carried on ZIZ Television (Channel 5 in St. Kitts and Channel 98 in Nevis) on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 3:15 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. It will also be carried on ZIZ Radio (96 FM) at 4:00 p.m., and 7:30 p.m.
