BASSETERRE. St. Kitts –- The Ministry of Health just announced it will initiate chemical fogging for mosquitoes from Dec. 3 through Dec. 7.
Fogging will begin each day at 5:30 p.m.
Monday, Dec. 3: Molyneaux, Phillps and Christ Church
Tuesday Dec. 4: Mansion, Mansion Project and Tabernacle
Wednesday Dec. 5: Bellevue, Harris’ and Saddlers
Thursday Dec. 6: Parsons and Dieppe Bay
Friday Dec. 7: St. Paul’s and Newton Ground
The ministry advises residents to keep their windows and doors open to allow the fog to pass through your homes. This procedure permits the chemical to knock down any adult mosquitoes which may be present.
People with sinus or asthma conditions are advised not to stay in their homes or in close proximity to the fog. The Ministry of Health advises people with these conditions to leave their homes and not return until an hour after the fogging.
Householders are asked to use or dispose of stored water or to keep water containers tightly closed to prevent mosquito breeding.
