Show fans will soon have the chance to witness a contest like no other.
“Nevisian Stars – Best of the Arts,” is being presented by the Nevis Department of Culture and will feature four categories: singing, dancing, modeling and music.
This is the first year for this contest, with the quarter-final round set for January 31, at the Nevis Cultural Complex.
“We at the department are trying to help young people, there are a lot of people with loads of hidden talent and this contest is a way of helping them,” Esther Brookes of the Culture Department said.
Some of the prizes offered are scholarship, cash and trips.
The Culture Department has consulted with various sponsors; including Cable and Wireless, Lefco, Deon Daniel and Associates, Old Manor Hotel and Oualie Beach Hotel.
Dates for the events are:
Quarter Finals – February 9, 8 p.m. at the Cultural Center. Admission: $5
Semi Finals – February 23, 8 p.m. at the Cultural Complex. Admission: $10
Finals – March 8, 8 p.m. at the Cultural Complex. Admission: $15
