Nevis is stepping up its efforts to attract more visitors from the U.S. market, using the 2026 American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) Caribbean Showcase to put the island’s tourism product directly in front of travel professionals.
The showcase, held in St. Kitts from August 22–25, brought together more than 70 U.S. travel advisors and key industry partners. The Nevis Tourism Authority (NTA) participated in the event in partnership with the St. Kitts Tourism Authority.
The engagement gave Nevis an opportunity to strengthen relationships with travel advisors while showcasing its accommodations, culture, culinary offerings, wellness experiences, beaches and other attractions.
During Sunday’s conference, Premier of Nevis Mark Brantley and Chief Executive Officer of the Nevis Tourism Authority Andia Ravariere addressed attendees, highlighting the island’s natural beauty, warm hospitality and authenticity.
Their presentations also sought to position Nevis as a distinctive Caribbean destination for travellers looking for meaningful experiences beyond the traditional resort vacation.
A major component of the showcase was taking travel advisors beyond the conference room and onto Nevis.
Participants travelled to the island for hotel site visits and experienced a range of local tours, activities and attractions. The initiative allowed advisors to see and experience the destination firsthand while gaining a closer look at the island’s tourism offerings.
The Nevis Tourism Authority said that firsthand exposure is particularly important because it gives travel professionals a deeper understanding of the destination and greater confidence when recommending and selling Nevis to their clients.
The Authority described ASTA as an important platform for destination education, networking and business development, providing access to professionals who play a key role in influencing travel decisions in the U.S. market.
Through its participation, the NTA said it continues to focus on strengthening relationships with the travel trade, expanding awareness of Nevis and encouraging more visitors to experience the island.
The showcase also provided an opportunity for Nevis to reinforce its message to the international travel industry: that its appeal lies not only in its beaches and scenery, but also in its culture, cuisine, wellness offerings, hospitality and authentic island experiences.
The NTA said initiatives such as the ASTA Caribbean Showcase remain an important part of its strategy to keep Nevis in front of travel advisors and ultimately inspire more travellers to discover the island — Nevis…Naturally.
