Nevisians to participate at regional show

The General Manager Oualie Beach Resort, Gerard Vaden Jones, and the Tour Director and Coordinator at the Resort, Stacy Parris will represent the Resort at  the St. Maarten/St. Martin Annual Regional Tradeshow, scheduled to be held on May 9 – 11, 2007.

The regional show is designed to showcase the islands of the Northeastern Caribbean, which include Anguilla, Antigua, Barbuda, Dominica, Guadeloupe, Montserrat, Saba, St. Barthelemy, St. Eustatius, St. Kitts & Nevis, Barbados and St. Maarten/St. Martin, this annual event provides buyers and sellers within the tourism industry the ideal venue to network and negotiate future business opportunities.

“We are honored and pleased to provide the tourism industry with this noteworthy event for the sixth consecutive year,” said Regina La Bega, Director of Tourism for the St. Maarten Tourism Bureau. “Through the combined efforts of both the French and the Dutch Tourist offices, as well as all of the islands located in the Northeastern Caribbean, it’s our goal to further develop the financial future of this region through the spirit of growth and mutual cooperation.”

The SMART tradeshow will take place at the newly opened Westin Dawn Beach, which is located in Philipsburg along the Southeastern shore of St. Maarten. This 317-room resort is home to nearly 20,000 square feet of flexible meeting space and will be home to the numerous SMART sanctioned events, which include, but are not limited to the following:

* Site inspections of select area properties

* Pre and post event tours of St. Maarten/St. Martin as well as area islands

* Guided tours of the newly refurbished Princess Juliana Airport

* Area updates on regional travel and island hopping opportunities

* Networking events with area/regional hoteliers and tour operators
