(Charlestown, Nevis) ” One of the tastiest treats in the Caribbean is all set to tempt your tastebuds tomorrow. The Nevis International Heritage Exposition is set for Saturday, Dec. 6. “We”re in the final stages of preparations,” Chief Executive Officer of the Nevis Tourism Authority Mrs. Garcia Thompson Hendrickson said. “Everything is right on target.” The event was originally set for October, but had to be rescheduled due to the untimely arrival of Hurricane Omar. This change has not helped advance ticket sales. “This time the response is not as good as we like, so we want people to come out,” she said. “It can only be successful if people come out. We have a very, very delightful event planned.” NICHE will begin at the Nisbet Plantation Beach Club on Saturday afternoon and continue there early Saturday evening. NICHE will conclude at Coconuts restaurant. At Nisbet, the first event is 2:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. It is a rum and chocolate pairing conducted by Puerto Rican broadcaster and former marketing director at Bacardi, Josue Merced-Reyes. Seats for this event are extremely limited. All proceeds will be donated to the NICHE Scholarship fund for outstanding Nevisian students studying for careers in the hotel and hospitality industry.” The cost for the rum and chocolate pairing is US $35 per person. The action continues at Nisbet starting at 7 p.m. -7:45 p.m. There will be a champagne reception at Sea Breeze, the beachfront restaurant at the renowned Nisbet Plantation Beach Club, compliments of Veuve Clicquot. At 8 p.m., the action shifts to Coconuts Restaurant.” A display of gourmet delights prepared and served by a team of 13 international chefs will tantalize even the most discriminating palate. Visit each station and enjoy fine wines from Spain, France, Italy and the New World, all of which have been specially selected by Driftwood Duty Free to complement each dish.
