One in custody, another sought in Nevis weekend shooting

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts — One person is in Police custody and another is being sought in relation to a recent shooting incident in Nevis.

At about 10:45 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, Carlisle Pemberton was shot and injured at his home in Montpelier during what Police have ruled as a robbery.

Pemberton was opening a gate at his home Preparing to park his car in the yard when he was attacked by two armed assailants. A single bullet wounded him in both legs. A number of personal items were taken from him by the assailants before they fled the scene in his motor jeep. Police later recovered Pemberton’s vehicle in the Bath Village area.

Police in Nevis disclosed that one person is in custody assisting with investigations. Police are looking for a second person of interest. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
