PARRY VISITS THE BIG APPLE By John Denny Observer Reporter
(Charlestown, Nevis) – The Premier has been busy this week during a trip to New York. He first met with investors on Wednesday to discuss a variety of Nevis related subjects and then on Thursday he met with nationals in the Bronx. Premier Parry said the most important part of the mission was to speak with potential North American investors who may bring much needed capital to the island. “It is heartening to see so much interest in the many investment opportunities on Nevis, in this present tough global economy,”he said. Nationals of Nevis resident in New York also had the opportunity to meet with Premier Parry on Thursday, May 28. During that meeting, the premier discussed ongoing progress on various projects happening around the island. The Premier was also accompanied by his Deputy the Hon. Hensley Daniel, who addressed nationals on matters related to Health, Culture and the Nevis Reformation Party-led Nevis Island Administration’s program in Social Development. During the Town Hall meeting, a short documentary on the island’s development in Agriculture, Roads, Tourism, Health, Water, Geothermal and other sectors was shown. The Premier said he enjoyed meeting with Nevisians who lived overseas to listen to their opinions and concerns. He is of the view that their contributions, in some cases, could assist the island’s movement in the right direction.
