POLICE BLOTTER COURT CONVICTIONS On May 26th 2009, the following persons appeared before the Magistrate Courts in Basseterre, Sandy Point and Charlestown, and were convicted and fined as follows: i. Alton Clarke of Boyd’s was cautioned for beating Javin Dias also of Boyd’s on December 6th 2008. ii. Alister Forde of Godwin Ghaut was fined $500.00 for larceny, and $300.00 for battery. The fines must be paid in two months or he will serve one month in prison. iii. Jeron Walters of Ottley’s Village was fined $500.00 to be paid in two months or serve one month in prison for making use of insulting and threatening language. iv. Jevon Frazer of Cradock Road was sentenced to prison for three (3) years hard labor for larceny which was committed at Ramsbury on 14th April 2009. v. Anthony Duberry of Barnes Ghaut was fined $1,200.00 to be paid in six months or serve six months in prison for possession of cannabis with intent to supply. The offence was committed on 22nd May 2009 at Gallows Bay. vi. A 16-year-old juvenile was fined $500.00 to be paid in six months or serve one month in prison on each of the following charges: a. Driving without a driver’s licence. b. Driving when not covered by insurance. c. Driving without due care and attention. d. Taking a motor vehicle without the consent of the owner. He was also ordered to receive twelve (12) strokes for taking the vehicle without consent. CRIME SCENE PHOTOS The High Command of the Police Force has become aware of the crime scene images of the late Orngel Estridge being circulated on the internet. This is regrettable and unacceptable. An investigation into this incident has been launched and appropriate action will be taken. Our deepest sympathy is extended to the family of the late Orngel Estridge for their loss, and our sincere apologies for this unfortunate incident. The police continue to work diligently to solve this brutal murder, and again make an appeal to the public to assist investigators with their enquiries.
