POLICE INVESTIGATE MURDER AT RUSSELL VILLAGE

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Friday 12th February 2010). On Friday 12th February 2010 at about 7:30 am police received a report of gunshots being fired in the vicinity of Russell Village, Basseterre. Police Officers of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Special Services Unit (SSU) and the Drug Unit responded and discovered a body lying in an Alley which intersects Buckley’s Site and Cardin Avenue close to Ottley Enterprises. The body was identified as that of Damian “Nashie” Isaac thirty (30) years old of Lime Kiln Housing Project. Further investigations revealed that Isaac and a male friend, Lingettie Hendrickson twenty (20) years old of St. Johnson Village were standing at the junction of Cayon Street and Buckleys Site at about 7:05 am on 12/02/2010 when they were attacked and pursued By two (2) armed masked assailants. As a result of the attack Isaac was shot dead and Hendrickson was shot in his right foot and was taken to the JNF General Hospital where he was treated and detained. Isaac was pronounced dead on the scene By the District Medical Officer but an autopsy will be performed later to determine the cause of death. There are no suspects, however investigations are ongoing.
