The Nevis Electricity Company Limited (NEVLEC) announced Friday scheduled power outages in the areas of Pump Road and Upper Government Road for the weekend.

Power outage: Saturday, Nov. 16 and Sunday, Nov. 17

Times: Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Why: To upgrade the Charlestown 1 Feeder as part of NEVLEC’s overall plan to increase the flexibility of the distribution system to improve the reliability

Areas to be affected: Pump Road and Upper Government Road

Power outage Friday in the Blind School area

The Nevis Electricity Company Limited (NEVLEC) had also advised Thursday of a scheduled power outage for Friday in the area of the Blind School from 9 a.m. to noon to facilitate maintenance work

Areas affected included Government Road, between Grove Park Range and Alexander Hospital, including Upper and Lower Ramsbury.

NEVLEC apologises for any inconveniences that may be caused by the outages and reminds customers that in each case service may be delayed later than the time specified. Customers are reminded to please take every precaution to safeguard electrical equipment during the interruption and restoration to the electrical supply.
