Basseterre, St. Kitts, 7th March 2014, – St. Kitts and Nevis’ sprinting sensations Jason Rogers and Brijesh Lawrence created history moments ago, as they both advanced to the semi-finals round of the men’s 60m at the 2014 World Indoor Championships in Sopot, Poland. Running in heat (3) three of six (6), Rogers won comfortably and automatically advanced with a time of 6.59 seconds. Lawrence ran in the 6th and final heat and placed 4th with a time of 6.63 seconds. His heat was dubbed as the most competitive as the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place finishes were determined by the cameras. In the end, he was successful in advancing to the next round as the fastest qualifier based on time. Both athletes are expected to compete at 1:30pm (St. Kitts / Nevis time), tomorrow Saturday 8th March 2014. “I am very proud of Jason and Brijesh.
