The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) emerged as the top team at the Independence 43 Drill Competition, held on September 25 along Basseterre’s Bay Road.
The competition brought together teams from the RSCNPF, St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF) Cadet Corps, St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA), and the St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Service.
According to the RSCNPF, the competition showcased a high standard of drill precision and discipline, with competitors representing their respective agencies in the annual event.
While the police force secured the top team honours, the individual awards also highlighted strong performances from competitors across the participating agencies.
Sixteen-year-old Snaika Desamour of the SKNDF Cadet Corps was named Best Overall and Best Female. The RSCNPF said Desamour was competing for the first time and advanced to a drill-off against two-time defending champion WPC Danecia Henry of the police force, ultimately taking the top individual honour.
Henry finished as first runner-up after successfully defending her position among the competition’s leading performers. She had won the individual title in the previous two years.
PC Khalel Clarke of the RSCNPF was named Best Male and placed third overall. The 19-year-old was also competing for the first time and had recently participated in the Independence 43 Ceremonial Parade.
The police force, in a September 25 post, congratulated all of the participating agencies and competitors, noting the effort and discipline displayed throughout the competition.
The RSCNPF also extended congratulations to Desamour, Henry and Clarke for their individual achievements and said it looks forward to next year’s competition.
