(Basseterre, St. Kitts) – Zaier Henry, at right, left her home at 3 p.m. on March 24 and has not returned since. Police are asking for assistance in locating her.
“At this point, we don’t expect any foul play,” Inspector Cromwell Henry of the Royal St. Kitts-Nevis Police said.
According to police, Ms. Henry, 16, left home to attend the Carifta Games at Bird Rock Stadium.
“She was last seen wearing a white blouse, blue jeans, pink high-heel shoes, pink necklace and a pink bandana on her hand. She is dark in complexion with brown eyes, black hair, about five feet one inch in height and weighs about 100 pounds,” according to the police description.
Sometimes teenagers will leave home because of family problems, Inspector Henry said, but emphasized that was not the situation in this case.
In other cases, children will run away from one-parent homes or because of parental conflicts.
“From time to time, they run away for various reasons. It’s usually voluntary and they are going with friends,” Inspector Henry said.
Anyone with information as to her whereabouts is kindly asked to call the Criminal Investigation Department (C.I.D) at 465-2241 ext 220/231/236 or the nearest Police Station.
