“You live by the gun, you die by the gun,” said Vanessa Murray, sister of Jeremy Murray, who was gunned down Tuesday night, in Frigate Bay as he was parking his car.

Jeremy, alias J-Bo, was found in his car with bullet wounds in his neck and head. The car was parked in front of the late Billy Herbert’s residence. The Herbert children now live in that house.

Vanessa said Jeremy was living in that house with the Herberts.

She pointed out that she loved her brother dearly, even though, she knew he “had his guns” and was constantly in trouble with the law.

“He really took care of us,” Vanessa said. “When my baby got sick he paid for me to take him out of the country for treatment.”

Vanessa said on Wednesday her telephone rang constantly with people harassing her about Jeremy’s murder.

“Some people told me they were happy he was dead,” Vanessa said, her eyes red from crying. Next to her stood Jeremy’s 9-years-old son, quietly, with his foot in cast.

He has a 5-years-old daughter too, Vanessa said, and has two women who are pregnant with his babies.

Jeremy had celebrated his 33rd birthday last Sunday.

Vanessa said Jeremy was a resident of Anguilla with an Anguillan wife.

According to reports from Anguilla, Jeremy was somehow involved in the stabbing murder of a taxi driver outside of a nightclub. After serving some jail time he was deported to St. Kitts, where he resided with the Herberts.

Jeremy was also a suspect in a number of unsolved murders in Anguilla.

On Wednesday, Police investigators combed through the Herbert’s residence collecting evidence. Outside, shattered glass from the window of Jeremy’s car could be seen directly in front of the driveway.

“I feel it was a setup,” Vanessa said. She suspected that the shooters had to be hiding inside the yard when Jeremy pulled up to the house.

“It had to have been an ambush, because knowing him he would have fired back,” Vanessa said.

“I saw three bullet holes in the car door,” Vanessa said.

She said her uncle called at about 10 that night, and she had rushed to the residence. However, police along with soldiers from the Defense Force, were already on the scene and would not allow her to see the body.

Vanessa said earlier that day she knew something was not right with her brother. She said Jeremy came to her residence earlier that day to drop of his daughter. She remembered how quiet he was, and he had seemed to be worried about something.

Vanessa said Jeremy gave his daughter a very long hug before he left. She also remembered that he had received two suspicious calls before he left. Vanessa claims that Jeremy had received a number of death threats.

“He was not really a troublesome person. He only went at people who interfered with him and his family,” Vanessa said.

According to a police source, Jeremy has been a suspect in number of shooting incidents in the Federation, including the shooting death of a man in Lodge.

However, the police source said Jeremy was never charged for any of the offences.

The police have held a number of people for questioning. However no one has been formerly charged for the murder.
