Const. James states:
On Tuesday 6th May 2008 at about 6:30 pm., I was driving along the Cotton Ground Barnes Ghaut bypass road. I saw a couple who I know walking down the road. I stopped and spoke to them and the gentleman told me he had seen and killed a snake up the road. I asked him where and he turned back a little way up and showed me the snake. It was about 3.5 feet in length and 1.5 inch in thickness. This is not the first snake sighting in Nevis and in that area of the island and this is not the first time I have seen one of that type. Some four years ago when I worked in that district I got reports of them being seen. I can also remember collecting one from a villager that was caught and kept in a bottle. I had notified the vet and they came and took it. Just about three months ago I saw and caught two in my neighbourhood, which were about 6 and 8 inches long and about a 1/2 inch in thickness.
