(Basseterre, St. Kitts) -A Saddlers Village man drowned Sunday afternoon, Nov. 16, at Cockle Shell Beach on the Southeast Peninsula of St. Kitts. The victim was Gerome Norford, 52. On Thursday, the Royal St. Kitts and Nevis Police reported that a post-mortem examination of Mr. Norford’s body was performed by Dr. Deepak, who confirmed drowning as the cause of death. “His body was spotted near the shore about 4 p.m. by a young man who was visiting the beach with friends, according to a spokesman for the Royal St. Kitts-Nevis Police. The district medical doctor arrived on the scene and pronounced Norford dead. Units of the police, Coast Guard and Emergency Services personnel also responded to the accident.
