Mar. 1 — St. Kitts won its 10th Leeward Islands Debating Competition trophy after edging host Nevis By one point in the finals, held on Sunday night. The debate topic was “The Rights ascribed to today’s children have resulted in a marked decline in the levels of discipline in the Caribbean.” The St. Kitts team: Ms. Isalean Phillip, the leader, and Kasim Queeley the seconder. The Nevis team: Ms. Joanne Flemming, the leader, and Krysta Liburd the seconder. Kasim Queeley won the title of ‘Best Speaker’ overall.
