TRAVEL: by Eric Mackenzie Lamb
Situated on the banks of the Rhine river in Basel, Switzerland, the Tinguely museum is unlike any others in the world. The largest part of the exhibition are machine sculptures which move at the touch of a button, as well as a large number of drawings.
The building itself was designed by Italian architect Mario Botta. The items on exhibition were donated by Jean Tinguely’s widow, Nikki de st Phalle. The museum is also a venue for concerts and ballets on special occasions.
