On Feb.17 the streets were filled with beauty, poise and elegance when the contestants for the 2nd annual Miss Hospitality Pageant paraded into Charlestown.
The pageant, which was slated for Feb. 25, has been rescheduled to Friday March 31 at 8 p.m., at the Cultural Complex.
This year the pageant is not just restricted to the island’s hotels but features contestants from other tourism related businesses.
Five young ladies from five hospitality businesses have stepped forward to compete in the pageant.
Mount Nevis Hotel will be represented by Kimoye Wyatt, Clear Harbour by Maurecia Williams, Café Des Arts by Sandra Williams, Four Seasons Resort by Jaedee Caines and reigning champions Nisbet’s Plantation Beach Club will be represented by Charmaine Budgeon.
The girls are confident and have all been contestants in pageants before. Whatt is a former Miss Talented Teen queen.
The two Williams have participated in C.S.S. House Pageant and both Caines and Budgeon were contestants in last year’s Miss Culture Queen Pageant.
Nicole Liburd of the Ministry of Tourism is the chairperson of the tourism week steering committee and she believes the audience can expect a great treat on March 31.
Following the introduction at the Charlestown Waterfront the girls journeyed to Smokyz in Gingerland.
Smokyz, the island’s new night spot formerly known as Pancho’s was the official sponsor of the launch.
