BASSETERRE, St. Kitts — Two businessmen, one in St. Kitts and one in Nevis are currently nursing gunshot wounds after they were attacked on Thursday.
Ian Pemberton a car-wash operator from Lower Monkey Hill was attacked shortly after 1:00 a.m.
Police have confirmed the incident; reports indicate that Pemberton was shot while in a building on his car-wash premises.
He was injured with a gunshot wound to his chest.
In Nevis, hotelier John Yearwood suffered a gunshot wound during an attempted burglary of his residence.
According to police reports, Yearwood and his wife were awakened by burglars and he received a gunshot wound to his thigh. During the confrontation Yearwood shot one of the intruders with his licensed firearm.
The assailants escaped with some cash and his vehicle.
