Caracas, Apr 25 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela’s and Russia’s governments addressed on Saturday joint actions to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, reported Venezuela’s Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza.

‘In compliance with the agreements made by Presidents Nicolas Maduro and Vladimir Putin, the first virtual meeting was held on Friday between our health ministers, in order to strengthen cooperation strategies in the area of approach and treatment of Covid-19’ tweeted Arreaza.

This week the presidents of Venezuela and Russia held a telephone conversation in which joint efforts were addressed to fight against SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, in addition to assessing the international situation and progress in the projects of cooperation between both countries.

President Maduro thanked Moscow for its support by the provision of thousands of diagnostic test kits for the novel coronavirus, while its Russian counterpart guaranteed new shipments of supplies and healthcare materials, while expressing the need for greater coordination between the medical and scientific teams of both countries.

Both leaders condemned the illegal and inhumane unilateral coercive measures to remain in force during so difficult times for humanity, Venezuela’s Foreign Ministry reported in a press release.

Likewise, the presidents of Venezuela and Russia agreed on the good progress of bilateral cooperation and on the will to advance in the consolidation of the strategic level of relations in all areas of ongoing joint work.
