The Vern N. Llew Pre-school last Friday held its tenth anniversary parade through the streets of Charlestown.
Parents, teachers, students past and present, and friends of the school gathered 8:30 a.m. last Friday at the Nevis Cultural Center. There they formed groups with current pre-schoolers leading, followed students in groups of the years graduated.
Some groups went as far back as 1996, when the school first opened its doors. They marched along the main road from the Centre up to Grove Park where the children were treated to snacks.
The children seemed to have enjoyed themselves as the temperature was cool, due to the downpour of rain that greeted the start of the parade.
Principal of the Vern N. Llew Pre-school, Vernitha Collins, expressed gratitude to the parents who came out to participate in the event, whether joining their children in the parade or walking along side the parade.
She also thanked the primary and secondary schools for allowing the past students now attending the various schools to participate in the event.
